First kicking off in 1980, the Dublin Fringe has grown from a weekend festival to a sixteen-day extravaganza of art and culture. This year it takes over Dublin from September 6th – 21st. For many, the 2025 Dublin Fringe Festival will not be their first rodeo. But if you are visiting for the first time, read on to find out our top 5 tips for the Dublin Fringe Festival.
1. Purchase Tickets Online
You can only buy tickets for the Fringe event online, so head to the website www.fringefest.com adn start looking for the events and shows you want to take in.
You can search by day or by genre to find the best fit for you. Once you’ve decided what to see, the booking process is quick and easy. Once complete, you don’t have to worry about printing tickets off. Instead, you will be provided with an e-ticket.
If you are coming to see the Fringe with a boatload of pals, all the better! The Fringe offers a 10% discount on tickets for parties of 10 or more. 2. Immerse Yourself in the Experience
Whether you are an old hand at the festival experience or this is your very first trip to Dublin, let alone the Fringe, it’s a perfect time to take in the city. While there are all sorts of events going on take advantage of the free events that are part of the program to really soak up the atmosphere.

3. Prepare for Rain
While Dublin is a fantastic city with a great deal to offer, the weather can often be on the rainier side, particularly heading into the autumn months.
By all means pack clothes more suited to a warm summer’s day, but don’t forget to bring a raincoat or umbrella, for the times when the weather might not be to your liking. 4. Public Transport
Fortunately, the public transport links for the Dublin Fringe Festival are fantastic.
There are numerous ways to commute around and be connected to all Fringe hotspots.
Buses are a useful way of commuting around, with trains also running.
The LUAS is a tram service that transports people around the city, and has stops in close proximity to hotels, saving you the hassle of a long walk at the end of the day.
